What constitutes abuse?

The use of external tools to illicitly obtain EXP, UC, items, etc. and/or modify battle results
is defined as [Abuse]
Actions that fall under this category are punishable in Cosmic League.
More detailed examples are outlined below.

  1. Premeditated match-rigging in order to accumulate EXP, UC, or Battle score.
Defined as any number of players conspiring and/or agreeing to rig battles for the intent of obtaining EXP, UC, items, or inflate their battle score.
Rigging battles to end quickly for the intent of obtaining EXP, UC, items, or inflate their battle score.
  2. Demonstrating the [intent] to allow yourself to be defeated in order to hasten the end of the battle.
  3. Misuse of Lag
Demonstrating the intent to restrict personal bandwidth in order to periodically disrupt communication with the server in order to gain an advantage over other players.

The preceding actions constitute Abuse and are considered a violation of the Terms of Service.
[CyberStep Services Terms of Usage] Article 15 is put into effect, allowing for the complete restriction and locking of accounts found to be in violation.
As actions that fall into the category of Abuse are disruptive to the gameplay experience of other players, accounts which have been marked for permanent restriction will not, under any circumstances, be made available at any point in time.
Disruptive actions which do not directly meet the criteria above may also be considered on an individual basis to be bannable offenses. As such, members of the service team are given the authority to perform permanent account restrictions at their discretion.

[Abuse of Bugs]

The accidental usage of a bug before it is patched out and made public in an official announcement is considered a separate matter from the category of abuse.
The abuse of a bug is defined as the intentional and malicious use of a system function in an improper manner for the sake of personal gain or to disrupt another player's experience.

[Verbal abuse, Interference]

  • The use of public channels in-game or via the community website to spread slander or libel regarding others.
  • The use of private channels in-game or via the community website to spread messages of sufficiently malicious intent.
(Uncivil interactions with members of differing races, religions, etc. are strongly discoruaged.)
  • The use of public channels in-game or via the community website to single out players for their performance in League Battles without their explicit permission, verbal abuse, or slander.
  • Statements designed to incite fear or disgust in other players.
  • Displaying blatant ill will towards other players.
  • Attempting to impersonate a member of the service team or company by use of a Nickname, Personal Message, or Clan Emblem.
  • Directly interfering or performing actions that would interfere with the duties of a service team member.
  • The promotion of activities which violate the Terms of Service.

Reports of actions fitting the above criteria will be investigated by members of the service team. Logs including chat history and actions will be reviewed before a decision is made and disciplinary measures are enacted.

[Account fraud, Illicit Access]

Players are responsible for the security and management of their own accounts.
The following actions constitute a breach of the Terms of Service and are therefore considered punishable offenses. The service team does not condone these actions and is not obligated to assist players in the event of preventable account loss.

  • The transmission of a player's login credentials.
  • The sharing of an account between players.
  • The sale of an account for monetary gain.
  • The sale of items or in-game currency (UC) for monetary gain.
  • The theft of an account due to the use of 3rd-party programs.

Any of the above criteria may be changed at the discretion of CyberStep and its divisions.
